I
have been sending requests for action on this subject for years now to The Mayor,
The Councilman,The MPP, The Fire Chief, and the town of Georgina and although
I have received a number of phone calls telling me what "I can't do"
and even one short visit from the Councilman when he read me the rules again and
told me what I can't do but I have yet to see even one written response to my
many inquiries and e-mails. Correction I
have now received some correspondence on these serious matters From
the M.P. I received a letter referring me to the "Town" as these are
"municipal matters". From
the M.P.P. I received a note encouraging me on with my efforts similar to "good
luck with town " . From
the Mayor - this:
Well
I guess these are better than nothing although "it appears " nothing
ever came from this. I
know it is not true but one would get the impression that the town is only working
in the interest of some "campfire friends" or "trash and leaf burners"
. I
have proposed a simple solution of an adjustment and modernizing of the bylaws
and a mail out to the tax role explaining the "21st century thinking on open
fires". The result so far has been zero action except for explaining to me
how to call the fire department every time I smell smoke. Unfortunately it is
almost impossible for me to talk on the phone while choking on smoke. |
